How to Obtain Passports for Kingdom Migration
Passports are not directly purchasable with gems in the standard shop; the main reliable source is the Alliance Shop. Once your alliance reaches a certain level, you can buy Passports there using Alliance Coins, which you earn by helping allies, donating to alliance tech, and participating in alliance events. The typical cost is 600,000 Alliance Coins per Passport, so high-power players need to plan ahead and stockpile coins over several weeks. Because the shop restocks periodically, check regularly and buy any available Passports before you actually need them.
Besides the Alliance Shop, Passports occasionally appear as rewards in special events, bundles, or limited-time offers. These are not guaranteed and often depend on your kingdom's age or current event cycle, so you should not rely on them as your only source. If you see a Passport in an event shop or a value bundle, evaluate whether the price is worth it compared to saving Alliance Coins. For most free-to-play players, the Alliance Shop remains the most consistent method.
You can also earn Passports indirectly by participating in Kingdom vs Kingdom events, but the drop rates are low and inconsistent. Some players report getting them from high-level barbarian forts or golden chests, though this is rare. The safest approach is to treat any event or drop as a bonus and continue saving Alliance Coins. If you are close to your required number, ask your alliance leadership about any internal Passport donation or exchange programs.
Using Passports: Migration Steps and Common Issues
Once you have the required number of Passports from the table above, you can start the migration. Open the Kingdom Map, tap your city, and look for the Kingdom Migration option in the city menu or settings. The game will show you a list of available target kingdoms, along with their power caps and age restrictions. Make sure you meet all requirements: your city must not be in an active Lost Kingdom or KvK, you cannot have any troops marching or in another kingdom, and your power must be below the target kingdom's maximum allowed power.
Before confirming, leave your current alliance if the migration requires it. In many cases, you must be alliance-less to migrate, and you will not be able to join a new alliance until you arrive. Also check that the target kingdom is not full or in a protected status. If the Migrate button is greyed out, hover over it or check the requirements list to see which condition you are missing.
Common mistakes include buying Passports before checking the target kingdom's power cap, trying to migrate during an active KvK, and forgetting to leave the alliance. Another frequent issue is not having enough Passports because the power requirement increased after you gained power. To avoid this, recalculate your needed Passports right before you migrate, not weeks in advance. If you are short, you can buy more from the Alliance Shop or wait for an event.
