Rocket League Season 24 Guide: Honor Duel, Black Market Trade-In and Everything New

Rocket League's Season 24 begins on September 23, 2026, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. The most notable new feature this season is Honor Duel, which lets you challenge an opponent directly during a match. Alongside it come a new use for unused Black Market items, a customizable scoreboard and rewritten keyboard and mouse settings. Below, I go through these features, the season's events, the reward structure and the fixes in patch v2.76 one by one.

Honor Duel: Jumping from the Match into a 1v1

Honor Duel lets you offer another player a 1v1 while you are in the middle of a match. The duel is played in the same mode as the match you are in. So if you are playing 3v3, the duel continues as a 1v1 version of the 3v3 rules. If the offer is accepted, the challenger and the opponent are automatically taken into the duel once the current match ends.

The other players in the match are not left out either. All of them are invited to the accepted duel as spectators and can watch it by accepting the notification in the Social Menu. This turns small rivalries in the same lobby into a watchable mini-match. If an opponent's score or playstyle got on your nerves, there is now an in-game way to settle things with them.

Honor Duel is not just a social feature, either. In the season's Rocket Rivalry section, winning a duel earns points for the content creator you support. The mechanic therefore feeds both rivalry between friends and the community competition. That is also the identity of the new season: speed, style and a clean win.

End of Match and Scoreboard: The MVP Takes the Spotlight

This season, the end-of-match podium screen makes the MVP more visible. The goal explosion the match MVP has equipped plays in the open goal behind the team, and the explosion's name is shown on screen. For players who collect goal explosions, this is a new way to show off their effort to everyone. It also gives being the MVP more visual payoff.

The custom scoreboard makes a part of the game that has stayed fixed for a long time personalizable. You choose the four stats that appear next to the score yourself, and you can set four separate stats for each mode. The shots, saves and assists shown by default can be swapped for many in-game events such as demos, high fives and flip resets. Almost all of the stats in the career section of your profile are included in this selection.

This flexibility appeals to different types of players. Someone who wants to track their mechanical progress can follow their flip reset count. Someone who focuses on defense can highlight saves. In addition, certain titles in the season can count their own stats, and new visuals unlock as thresholds are passed.

Revamped Keyboard and Mouse Controls and Free Look Camera

Season 24 includes a major update for keyboard and mouse players. The key bindings have been modernized and additional options have been added to fine-tune the experience. The new controls will be the default for players who are just starting out on keyboard and mouse. Existing players can choose to try them if they wish and send their feedback to the developers.

The real novelty is the Free Look Camera. It lets the player point the camera in any direction at any moment. A center dot crosshair can also be added to support the new camera movement. This camera mode is not exclusive to keyboard and mouse players; controller users can also enable it and try the new camera controls.

Camera habits in Rocket League vary a lot from player to player, and not everyone plays with the same settings. The free camera adds a new option to those habits. Still, how useful it will be in competitive play will only become clear as players experiment with it over the season.

Reward System: Trade-In, Titles and Rocket Pass

The Black Market Trade-In gives meaning to the duplicate items piling up in your inventory. If you hand in three of the same Black Market item, you get one item in return. That item is either a completely new one or a painted version you don't yet have in your collection. You can't choose in advance which one you will get, but your piles of duplicates will no longer sit idle.

On the competitive side, players who reach the top 100 in the Soccar-only 3v3, 2v2 and 1v1 rankings receive special titles at the end of the season. There are five separate titles, awarded according to rank. Those placed between 100 and 51 get the "S24 3V3 TOP 100" title, and those between 50 and 26 get the "S24 3V3 TOP 50" title. The list continues like this down to 1st place. For players on the global leaderboard, this will be a permanent proof of the season.

In the Rocket Pass, three new car bodies stand out:

  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 (Octane hitbox)
  • Dominus GT 76 (Dominus hitbox)
  • Pareto 5S (Breakout hitbox)

Other highlight rewards earned as you move up the tiers include Forewarned Holographic Wheels, Synapse Boost, Vextor Decal, Treadsparks Trail and Anipop Goal Explosion. Throughout the season, you can also earn Creator Drops with codes shared by content creators on YouTube and Twitch. These drops can give a variety of items ranging from Sport to Black Market rarity. The two-stage goal explosion arriving in the Shop on September 26 plays its standard form on the first goal and switches to its final form on the second.

Limited-Time Events

There are three limited-time events this season, two of which start on day one.

Run it Up runs from September 23 to December 9. The 14 new challenges to complete earn Nova Collection drops. The collection includes items such as the Ronin GXT car body, Laser-Light goal explosion, Neural Network Decal, InfoSec Boost and Fissure Trail. There are also rewards at the Sport, Special, Deluxe and Import rarities. Two stat-tracking titles that keep a live count of your seasonal wins and MVPs are among this event's rewards as well.

Bullet Ball is played from September 23 to October 6. The last car standing wins. A fast, homing ball targets a single player at a time. The ball destroys its target the moment it hits, but you can prevent that with three moves:

  • Attack: You redirect the ball to a new target by dodging forward.
  • Freeze: If you backflip into the ball at the moment of impact, the Bullet Ball's attack is temporarily halted. After a short cooldown, the player closest to the ball becomes the new target.
  • Catch: You grab an opponent by holding the grab button while dodging. If you are the target, the player you caught becomes the new target.

The Persona 5 event runs from September 25 to October 12. Challenge rewards include The Trickstar (P5R) Wheels, Morgana's Token Boost and Trail, Phantom Thieves of Hearts Universal Decal, Persona 5 Royale Octane Decal, the "TAKE YOUR HEART" title and the Joker Topper. The Morgana Player Banner, the P5R Avatar Border, a Treasure Chest and a repeatable 20K XP reward are on the list too. The Mona Car Bundle in the Shop, meanwhile, includes the Mona Car body, wheels and decal, the Panther and Joker decals, and the Phantom Thieves of Hearts goal explosion and wheels for those who want a matching look.

Community-Focused Initiatives

In Rocket Rivalry, eight content creators put their names forward this season. Freestyle pioneer JZR and ApparentlyJack lead the roster together with Tenacity, Forky and almost. Firewall154 represents Brazil, Twisty the Netherlands and Crnovy the MENA community. Every point you earn by equipping the title of the person you support and winning Honor Duels moves them up the rankings. The goal is the exhibition match in London.

In the Community Spotlight, a title has been prepared for herculyse, a longtime community member and beloved RLCS commentator. The "Professional Yapper" title can be claimed for free in the community spotlight tab in the Shop from the start of the season until September 30. Since the window is narrow, anyone interested would do well to mark it on the calendar.

Patch v2.76: Mode Options and Bug Fixes

Beyond Honor Duel and the other major new features, the patch notes include small but useful changes to game modes. Free-for-all modes such as Bullet Ball and Knockout can now be selected in Private Matches and Exhibition. That means more mode options for groups of friends. A new Boost Pad Recharge Rate mutator has also been added.

On the stability side, an issue on PC where the client froze on the previous frame when you alt-tabbed during a transition has been fixed. On PlayStation 5, the problem of the front end not appearing when waking from rest mode has been resolved. A startup crash on consoles that could occur due to a missing package and a crash in the main menu preview have also been fixed. On the Stats API side, the GoalScored event no longer fires on replays, and matches that end without a result now report -1 as the winning team.

In the interface, bugs such as Item Shop bundle thumbnails not loading on Nintendo Switch, the fourth row being cut off in the Crate Preview screen and Rocket Pass notifications not closing have been fixed. On the visual side, SMAA anti-aliasing not working on PC, large boost pads flickering at High quality and the Blue Chip Rocket Boost looking overly bright have been corrected. Cars spawning sunk into the ground in mirrored Training Packs has also been resolved.

What Does Season 24 Tell Us?

The common theme of this season is giving players the ability to shape their own experience and to live out the rivalry inside the game. Honor Duel, the custom scoreboard and the free camera let players reflect their own style more. The Black Market trade-in and Top 100 titles, meanwhile, offer goals to both collectors and competitive players. The events target different expectations too: the long-running Run it Up, the short and fast-paced Bullet Ball and the fan-focused Persona 5.

What to do before entering the season is simple. Set aside your duplicate Black Market items, don't forget to claim the Professional Yapper title by September 30, and if you have a goal in the rankings, take all three Soccar lists into account, including 1v1 and 2v2. Keyboard and mouse players should try the new defaults and see whether the free camera suits their playstyle. Which feature truly changes the game once the season opens will become clear through the community's reaction in the first few weeks.
