Halloween events in Rise of Kingdoms start every year in the last week of October and run into the first days of November; in 2020 the event window was 27 October – 6 November (UTC). The content is not the same every year, though: Lilith Games changes the names, rewards and prices of the sub-events from one year to the next. In 2021, for example, the group was made up of completely different parts such as Trick or Treats, Night of the Pumpkin, Ceroli Assault and Race against Time. That is why this guide first explains the logic that works every year, then uses the known numbers from the 2020 event as an example.
Where the Event Appears and What It Includes
The Halloween bundle opens as a separate group titled "Holiday Events" under the in-game Event Calendar. The main parts of the 2020 group were:
- Halloween Party: A seven-day quest list. The quests gave pumpkins; according to the source guide, players who finished all of them received 100 epic sculptures and 100 five-minute speedups.
- Night of Celebration: A section where you decorate and level up a giant Jack-O'-Lantern with pumpkins. Your contribution counted toward a ranking; according to the source guide, each player could open 10 chests and the top 20 were rewarded.
- Ghoulish Graveyard: A short section where you collect witch hats through the tasks of five graves and then defeat the Evil Witch.
- Hallow's Eve: The section where collected pumpkins and candy are exchanged for rewards.
Next to these there were also the event's introduction screen, The Spirits Are Coming, and a Haunted Pumpkins tab.
Not every part stays open for the same length of time: in 2020 Ghoulish Graveyard was only open from 27 to 30 October. Checking each tab's own end date on the day the event starts is the only way not to miss the short sections.
Two Currencies: Pumpkins and Candy
The economy of the 2020 event was built on two currencies: pumpkins and Halloween Candy. Pumpkins were earned by playing. Candy, in practice, only came from spending gems (according to the source guide, spending 10k gems) or buying bundles. Because the most valuable rewards asked for both, deciding before the event whether you will spend at all saves you from disappointment later.
The Most Efficient Ways to Collect Pumpkins

The most common mistake is burning all your action points on barbarians for pumpkins. Ending the event with a handful of pumpkins and entering KvK without action points is more of a loss than a gain.
The Real Cost of Ghoulish Graveyard
The mechanic is simple: you scout five haunted graves, each grave gives you a task, and you collect a witch hat for every task you finish. Once you have five hats you can summon the Evil Witch and defeat her alone or rally her with your alliance.
The tasks look easy, but they are not free. According to the source guide they included defeating 20–50 barbarians, raising your power through research and construction, and training troops. All of these eat speedups or action points, and those speedups are worth far more in ranking events such as Mightiest Governor. So:
- Line up the tasks that need speedups with a ranking event you are already taking part in.
- Take the witch down with an alliance rally whenever possible; for a solo player this part burns more resources than it returns.
Hallow's Eve: What to Spend On
In 2020 the showcase item of the reward list was the epic city theme Creepwood Cabin. According to the source guide it cost 200 pumpkins plus 100 candy. Since candy realistically only came from gems or bundles, a non-spending player could not really get this theme.
Legendary commander sculptures were more accessible: 25 pumpkins and 10 candy each, with a limit of 30. If you have spare gems they can be the most balanced gain of the event; if your gems are limited, saving them for events with better reward value is usually the smarter call. Ask yourself one question before you buy: will this purchase bring me more power or ranking points in upcoming events?
Priorities for Free-to-Play Players
- On the day the event opens, check the end date of every tab and plan the short sections first.
- Never leave your gathering marches idle; pick food and wood points.
- Collect city production roughly every 2 hours.
- Spread the seven-day quests across the week instead of cramming them into the last day.
- Do not spend action points on barbarians; save them for KvK.
- Time the tasks that need speedups with a ranking event.
- Do not aim for the city theme that requires candy; put your pumpkins into rewards you can get without candy.
- Event currencies usually become worthless once the event ends, so spend your remaining pumpkins on the last day.
When Will the 2026 Event Start?
The content of the 2026 Halloween event has not been announced yet. Based on previous years it is expected to start in the last week of October. Sub-event names and prices may change, so compare the numbers in this guide with the in-game values once the event opens; the gathering and spending priorities above stay valid every year.
