Planning a marriage in Fields of Mistria requires much more than just maxing out your relationship level. After getting your partner's heart counter to 10, the first major obstacle in front of you is preparing an engagement ring. This ring is one of the most expensive and multi-stage crafting recipes in the game. However, if you've already spent a lot of time mining, the real difficulty isn't the material list—it's unlocking the locked recipes.
Reach the 100th Floor of the Mines First for the Engagement Ring
To get the ring's recipe, you must descend to the lowest levels of the mines. The Dragon Forge is on the 90th floor, but its additional recipes only unlock once you reach the 100th floor. So if you've focused on friendship quests and neglected your mine progress, you'll need to pick up your pickaxe and hammer first. When you reach the 100th floor, you'll learn the Dragon-Forged Core recipe and can move on to the actual crafting process.

Engagement Ring Recipe and Dragon-Forged Core
The engagement ring is crafted at a regular blacksmithing bench. The main materials are as follows: 2 diamonds, 4 Mistril bars, 4 gold bars, and 1 Dragon-Forged Core. This core itself requires a separate crafting process, and that's where the real challenge begins. For the Dragon-Forged Core, you'll need 5 monster cores, 1 Mistril bar, 1 pink diamond, 1 ancient firefly, and 1 medium magic stone. You can see all the requirements in the list below:
- Engagement ring: 2 Diamonds, 4 Mistril Bars, 4 Gold Bars, 1 Dragon-Forged Core
- Dragon-Forged Core: 5 Monster Cores, 1 Mistril Bar, 1 Pink Diamond, 1 Ancient Firefly, 1 Medium Magic Stone

Materials You Can Shortcut with Money
If you don't want to rush, you can skip some steps by spending tesserae. The easiest part is the ore bars: you can buy 40 gold ore from the blacksmith for 8,000 tesserae and craft 4 gold bars. Similarly, you can purchase 50 Mistril ore for 20,000 tesserae; smelting them will give you the 5 Mistril bars needed for both the ring and the Dragon-Forged Core. For stone, the Large Bundle of Stone you buy from the carpenter's shop for 2,000 tesserae will do the job. With that stone, you can produce 2 diamonds and 1 medium magic stone at the stone refiner.
The Part You Can't Craft: Monsters, Diamonds, and Bugs
Some materials cannot be bought with money. For the 5 monster cores, you'll need to hunt the lantern enemies on floors 1–39 or the flame spirits on floors 61–99 of the mines. The pink diamond can drop from pink diamond nodes after the 81st floor; you also have a chance to earn it by going on a gem-cutting date with your partner on Saturday or Sunday. For the ancient firefly, you'll need to use your net in the Ancient Ruins area, which also opens after the 81st floor. These three items are what actually takes time when gathering the ring from scratch.
Plan Ahead
The engagement ring recipe isn't actually that intimidating, as long as you don't neglect your progress in the mines. Starting to collect items from after the 81st floor early on can save you weeks in your marriage preparations. Keep a net and plenty of pickaxes on you at all times. If you stockpile resources and use the shortcuts, slipping that ring onto your partner's finger could take just a few days.
