AMD's Ryzen 7 7700X3D model offers the same silicon and same 96 MB 3D V-Cache as the 7800X3D with lower clock speeds, at a $329 price tag. Gaming performance is genuinely strong and its sensitivity to memory speed is surprisingly low; however, its price positioning squeezes the processor into a difficult corner within its own family. On the productivity side, there are serious compromises.
