What will the new Battlefield 6 server browser actually change?

Portal already has a server browser, and setting one up sends you to a website. The roadmap now says a proper browser with persistent servers is coming.

Does that mean we can finally pick official servers from a list like BF1, or is it just Portal with a nicer menu?
